re: Benjamin Eakeley Love Thread!

That's fair. Point taken.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

To change the subject back to a Happy note today is Ben's Birthday - so send Happy Birthday vibes in the direction of the O'Neill re: Benjamin Eakeley Love Thread!

The Good Shepherd

I'm bouncing this thread to tell everyone to go see Ben in The Good Shepherd. He has a nice little featured role with the Bonesmen... and the film is done very well.

Cheers and Happy Holidays!

The Good Shepherd

I never had the good fortune to see the show at all, but i've heard nothing but amazing things about mr. eakeley. i love it on the broadway.com video when the announcer goes "Ben Eakeley, please sign in" and mano goes "you just heard god", and that's what inspired me to look him up. he's great! all the best to him.

All the lights are misty in the river
In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me forever and forever."

The Good Shepherd

Just saw the tour production of Sweeney in Chicago this week. I looked up Ben because I found his portrayal of the Beadle exceedingly sexy, not something I would usually expect out of the role! In the original (non-revival) Broadway production, the Beadle was a chubby older guy, fairly unattractive. Anyone who has seen the film or knows of Timothy Spall knows that the film Beadle was similar to my description of the OBC Beadle. So WOW! Definitely a different perspective. I really enjoyed his performance!
