I've always felt that Yentl would translate well to the stage, although they will need to let other characters besides Yentl/Anshel sing for the Broadway version.
I just hope that Yentl goes the way of the Funny Girl revival (or lack thereof). Streisand casts a big shadow (no nose jokes!).
And while it would be lovely to hear Audra sing the score, this is another show that cannot support the notion of color blind casting.
The truly beautiful should be lawfully restricted from wearing clothing; and the truly butt-ugly should be lawfully mandated from going naked.
