Did anyone else attend one of her concerts this weekend? Though I have seen her perform on Broadway, this was my first time seeing her in concert. She was in great voice and did a selection of songs from her CDs, mostly the Sondheim stuff, which was just fine with me!. She also did Rose's Turn, though it did not quite pack the punch it did at the end of Gypsy, and Let me Entertain You. It was an enjoyable afternoon but the concert was quite short (no intermission though) and I sometimes got the feeling that she was just kind of going through a very well rehearsed bit (could have been the crowd though). Still great to see one of the "greats" perform. I simply love her voice singing legit or belting.

How long would you say the concert was? I've seen her in Gypsy three times (see my avatar) and I'm seeing her in concert for the first time this Sunday in Omaha. Do you know if she came out the stage door? Expect a very detailed review from me in a week. re: Bernadette Peters at Strathmore Music Center (DC Area)

It was about an hour and 10 minutes. I am not sure of the stage door as the Strathmore Music Center is huge and I would not even know where it is. I already met her after Gypsy though and that was enough for me.

Hope you enjoy the concert.

I saw both shows from the front row center orchestra! She came out the stage door after both performances, though Sunday took her much longer than Saturday night. She shortened the show slightly on Sunday and didn't sing My Romance/Way You Look Tonight. She took pictures and signed for those who were waiting for her (about 10 on Saturday and maybe 15 on Sunday.)

She did seem slightly under the weather on Sunday which may explain why the show was shortened.

I was there, also, both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday started at 8:05pm and ended at 9:30pm; Sunday started at 2:10pm and ended at 3:30pm. The concert was her standard set list that she's been doing for quite a while now.

Take a look at our stage door photos and write-ups at the link.

Yes, she comes out of the stage door. She is as gracious and giving as ever, regardless of where she is or how she is feeling. A truely classy "dame" in the best sense of the word!
