I am one of Donna Murphy's most devoted fans, but I believe Bernadette Peters is more apt for the part. However, Murphy would make a fine Dolly although Peters herself would be ideal as Dolly Levi. I'm not sure which one of them I'd prefer tackling this role on a recent Broadway revival.
