Bert and Maggie - 42nd St?

Are these two big characters? I know that they are basically sidekicks but whats there point in the show and how big of characters are they?

It's been almost 3 years since I saw it, but I don't think they are THAT big of parts. I would say they are like PMS from Legally Blonde.

They're not huge parts but a lot of fun-sort of goofy roles. I would consider Maggie maybe the 3rd biggest girl part (maybe less than Anytime Annie)? They have a cute duet in "Shuffle off to Buffalo." Maggie also sings in "Go Into Your Dance." They can be scene-stealing.
