LSOH - Thur Ken Ctr Parking

I have a reserved Kennedy Center parking spot for Thursday (11/25).  I'm meeting my daughter and son-in-law there, so am considering taking Uber or Lyft if someone is interested in taking the parking space off my hands.  Cost was $20; I'll sell it for $15.  PM me.

LSOH Kennedy Center

Has anyone ever heard Josh Radnor sing?

LSOH Kennedy Center

Wonder who's playing the dentist?  That's always the most fun role.

LSOH Kennedy Center

Now that it's the end of August, I wonder if anyone here has heard anything about casting.

LSOH Kennedy Center

Thanks, Elegance101 -- I didn't realize this had a compressed schedule.  I guess that means that tickets might actually go on sale before the show is cast.

LSOH Kennedy Center

Little Shop of Horrors will be playing at the Kennedy Center in October.  The Kennedy Center website says that the performance will feature "a starry cast direct from Broadway."  Any ideas who that will be?

The Band's Visit cast recording available for first listen ahead of streaming release on 12/15

Would folks who have seen the show advise listening to the cast recording ahead of seeing the show?  I have found that for some shows listening in advance enhances the experience, whereas in others it gives away too much.

Places to stay in New York??

We have been using Priceline for annual trips to New York for over a decade, and have never been disappointed with the hotel.  A quick search shows that for your time, using Priceline Express, you can get a 3* hotel in Times Square for $128, a 3.5* hotel for $126, and a 4* hotel for $145 (you do have to factor in fees and taxes).  I have found that rates on Priceline Express range from about 1/2 to 2/3 what you would pay directly. You might also consider staying just outside of Time

Crazy For You(Pre-Bway Run) is final CTG/Ahmanson Show

I agree with Marc.  Since Ken Ludwig lives in the DC area and has past involvement with Signature (his Fox on the Fairway premiered there), I wouldn't be surprised if he had a hand in the production as well.

Bette Midler/ Hello Dolly Stage Door

Now that previews are done, I wonder if anything has changed with the cast signing, taking pictures, etc.

Pre-Show Brunch

Looking for a nice brunch before a Saturday matinee.  So far, narrowed to Maison Kayser, 441/2, or 44&X, but open to other possibilities.

Thanks.

Favourite reasonably priced pre-theatre dinner spot?

My favorites are Marseilles and Trattoria Trecolori.

Superior Donuts is a TV sitcom

Hank Steuver in the Washington Post did not think too highly of this. https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/tv/superior-donuts-doesnt-come-close-to-filling-the-diversity-hole-in-cbss-schedule/2017/01/31/70de67d4-e70e-11e6-80c2-30e57e57e05d_story.html?utm_term=.91cc416cc5e7

Dave Malloy returns to Great Comet!

The reports seem pretty clear that Josh is only on through July 2. It does seem strange that with tickets now on sale through September it is unclear who will take the role of Pierre -- Dave, Scott, or some new person.

THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG to Take the Lyceum, Spring 2017

Saw this in London in June -- did not stop laughing the entire show.

Great Comet - New Block?

I thought most lead contracts were typically for a year, subject to the show remaining open, of course.  If that's the case, Groban is probably signed through October.  Now that reviews are out and positive, it shouldn't be long before tickets are on sale past April.

Anastasia or Great Comet?

Fair enough -- taste tends toward more modern and quirky musicals, less toward traditional.  Love In the Heights, Little Shop, Fun Home, Avenue Q.  Love Sondheim; ALW not so much.

Anastasia or Great Comet?

Informed advice, please.

First time in NYC and need help picking hotels and where to go besides seeing shows.

For several years we've used Priceline.  If you stick to 3 stars or better you should be fine -- we have never gotten a bad hotel in doing this for about 12 years straight, and the price has always been 1/2 to 2/3 what you would pay otherwise -- typically $140 to $175 per night.

Shuffle Along previews

Just arrived in NY for tonight's performance and have not heard anything.
