I've heard the songs from the show that have become standards, obviously. But I'm looking to hear more.
I know the original cast recording is incomplete, but is it still the best one to get first?
Thanks in advance :)

I like the Paper Mill Follies. Listening to it along with the original script - it's very complete. Plus it has a lot of extra material (Both the story of Lucy and Jessie and Ah, But Underneath). And it's the best quality release so far.
Some people can't get past the original performances, but that cast album is low quality and truncated – I don't know if you can get the 'feel' of the show if you only have it.
Ideally get the OBC and the Papermill cast too.
The 1985 concert recording is fun and energetic but I think it's less about the characters about more about the performers.

I would recommend a bootleg of the original cast (shh) and the Papermill recording, but if you can buy all of them.
And broadwaybound30 get a life, you're sucking the air out of your brains.
