What do you believe is the best role in a musical for a young male to play? Female?

I saw a high school production of Cabaret, and after seeing it, I think that every young girl should play Sally Bowles. For male, I'm not sure...

umm female: Sally Brown in YAGMCB, its a great one

male? Id say characters from YAGMCB and ummmmmmmmm Tin Man and Lion from The Wiz or the wizard of oz, and umm peter pan, unless a girl is cast there then ya that works out too

What do you mean by young? Because I was thinking along the lines of Annie/Oliver but Sally Bowles doesn't seem to follow that line of young...
