So I saw In the Heights in March, and I sat in the third row --- on the far, far left. I wasn't very happy with the seat (especially since I believe it was a restricted view that wasn't mentioned).
I'm considering returning to the show with a friend this summer, and I would love to know where others sat and if you thought they were good seats.
From what I saw of the show, it seems like a show that would be good from further back. Especially since the Orch is stair stepped in the back.
Opinions?
I sat in the back of the orchestra and it was okay. The mezzanine overhang doesn't block much, but it's still annoying.
Personally, I would try and sit just in front of the overhang in the orchestra (I believe that would be row I). Any closer you lose some depth to the stage and any farther back your vision is restricted. Front mezzanine might be good too.
When I went in March, I had C-ORCH / C / 107. Aside from sitting in the center-most seat, my view was PERFECTION. The Rodgers Theatre seating plan is genius - in that, EVERY seat is a GREAT view!
Happy Theatergoing!

I heart otherwise for Tarzan. People in the rear orchestra had to watch some of the action on TV screens!
Yeah, there were GIANT sightline issues in the back orchestra. The mezz overhang I mentioned earlier blocked out some of the show's craziest aerial acrobatics, including Tarzan's big entrance and a pivotal scene involving him and Jane.

What the heck is wrong with the center-most seat????
I've sat in the lotto seats and they are great and I also sat row G in the orchestra and they were amazing but it was dead center and very squished.
I've sat in the first row and the last row - I don't think there's a bad seat in the house.
I worded it incorrectly.
It SHOULD read: "Along with sitting in the center-most seat..." NOT "Aside from..." My mistake. Hah!
I sat in the first row of front mezzanine all they way over to the right and it was still fantastic!
How are the 30 dollar seats? Is row F good?
Alright - I took a leap of faith and bought Orch Q - dead center. I wanted to get seats further back to enjoy the movement and set, and I wanted to be in the stairstep seats because I'm short. We'll see.
I'm hoping they are decent because my horrible seat really impeded my enjoyment of the show the first time.
However after listening to the OBC recording this week, I've decided I like it more than I thought I did. It's not a perfect show, but it is worth a second viewing.
And with a few Tonys in the future, I should be able to sell those seats if I change my mind for some reason.
I really want my friend to see a "big production" when we are in NY. And I can't stand Phantom, and I'm tired of Wicked. We don't want to do Disney. In the Heights has the production qualities along with some really catchy music and fabulous dancing. I'm excited!

Are the $57 partial view seats offered to the losers of the lottery Saturday night any good?
My ITH ticket back in previews was one of the best seats I've ever gotten in a theatre. I was 7th row dead center orchestra, and it was $58. Freakin steal. How much are they going for now? Even with a discount code, like 80?
I had a great view from the balcony for Tarzan, and it was off to the right. And, of course, my second row seat was wonderful as well.
The Richard Rogers theater is, I think, one of the better laid-out theaters on Broadway. It's open and beautiful, and the overhang doesn't obstruct to a large extent.

Depends on where they are- if they're rear orch then anything as far back as row R, maybe row S, is fine; anything further back than that is too partial view, what with the low hanging mezz there, especially if you're a first time viewer. To give you an idea, the view from the very back standing room, behind the last rear orch seats, you don't see anything above the awnings on the first floor of the buildings on the set.
If they're side orch if you're at least I think one or two seats in from the end, there's an area there that is labeled/sold as partial view, but the view is fine, from what I hear- I've sat rear orch, never sat side orch, 'partial view' tickets.
