I'd like to second Plum and say see "I am My Own Wife" because that is one fantastic piece of theater.

you have to admit it - no matter how much everyone b**ches about Wicked almost everyone put it on here as one of the best shows. Thats gotta say something!

Wicked is a crowd-pleaser, if nothing else. That's ok.

Wicked Avenue Q Chicago all the best for different reasons
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel

Here are three + :
THE LION KING is still the most brilliantly conceived, designed and directed show on Broadway while THE PRODUCERS is a slickly-produced, at times hilarious, old-fashioned musical comedy. AVENUE Q and HAIRSPRAY, though paper thin, are entertaining enough, tho the latter suffers from long bouts of tedium in its book scenes. WICKED may be impressive in its design and performances but its book and score are too often confused and mediocre. I AM MY OWN WIFE made for a somewhat interesting, agenda-driven read but, not having seen the production, I can't comment on it, though the solo performance has been lauded. THE FROGS is seriously misconceived, however, and shows no one off to good advantage, including Sondheim, and will leave you feeling theatre is irrelevant. CAROLINE, OR CHANGE is a boring, pretentious piece of claptrap that will make you angry for wasting your time and money (regardless of what the pseudo-intellectuals and camp-followers may tell you here).
