Kristin Chenoweth did give a very cute Tony performance when she sang "My New Philosophy." Another performance I love was about 30 seconds long but more memorable than all the performances we have seen in the past couple of years: Anita Morris dancing and singing "You Gotta Get a Gimmick" during the Sondheim tribute in 1984, I believe. The way she moved her hips, sang the song, and popped the head just blew me away. What an impressive performer. Dorothy Loudon was a crazy performer, she just owned the stage, owned the songs, owned everything about the performance. I love the way she says "rotten orphan" in the lead-up to "Easy Street" at the Tonys.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
