I've got to say I'd LOVE so see Parade made into a movie. It'd be quite good, I think.

I agree with Dreamgirls. I think it would survive the transition easily.

City of Angels would also be an excellent candidate as it was originally staged to look like a film including the black screens to frame the movie sequences to appear as if on screen.

I always thought Once on This Island would make an excellent animated film. With the magic of the mythical lore and the colors and artistry of the culture, it could be breathtaking.

Though I never liked Follies on stage, I think I could like it on film. The story itself is a great concept, but the majority of the dialogue is just atrocious. I found it difficult to stay awake. A film version could really make the "ghost" scenes work and give the Follies sequences the glamour and glitz they deserve.

I think there needs to be a new version of Hair on film. The political atmosphere is right. They could go back to the original version rather than the cowboy character and the debutante they created for the film. And with the technological advancements now, the musical numbers could be really mind-blowing. I would love to see Oliver Stone tackle it.

Sweeney Todd would be great with the right director. I really wish they would get Tim Burton back on this. I feel like he's the only one who could do it justice.

Hairspray could easily transfer to film. I would much rather see it on the big screen than The Producers.

Jarico and I both agreed that Sunset Boulevard would work well as a film. Though it could never surpass the original, it is different enough (due to being sung-through and especially if filmed in color), that it would not be difficult to separate it from its predecessor. The score certainly sounds cinematic and grand enough to quantify a film version.
