I know that Jane Martin is commonly believed to be Jon Jory. I did an rather lengthy report on "her" two years ago, and the evidence is still inconclusive. So I believe her to actually be female. I doubt the truth will ever been known. But regardless. Keely and Du is the most riveting play I've ever read.

agree with keely and du.

I've yet to decide on my opinions about martin's true personality, but know one thing for sure...

Keely ad Du can change a life.

FAR AWAY.

THE SKRIKER.

CLOUD 9.

A NUMBER.

If she had only written these plays alone, Churchill would undoubtedly be not only the best living female playwright, but next to Albee and Kushner, the best living playwright period. The added plus is that her newer works are so succinct and surreal that they will undoubtedly stand the test of time because so much is left up the audience/director/actor's imagination and interpretation. She is brilliant.

Mary Chase's other plays are hard to find. I remember reading one a few years agos and found it very enjoyable. I wonder what her story is? Was she forever shadowed by the success of HARVEY?
I'll bet it is interesting.

My sister loves Caryl Churchill. I saw Top Girls when my sister was in it and I thought it was good...haven't seen or read anything else of her's though.
