I would defintely not take a guy who's not into musical theatre to hairspray.

The wedding singer, rent, spelling bee

Once upon a time I used to play with toys, but now I'd rather play around with teenage boys

yeah, I think wedding singer is great- very... non-classic-musically :) haha. Especially if he likes the 80s and its music, he'll love it!
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

No matter how much I love Sweeney, I would NOT take someone who is not familiar with musical theatre to it. It's just...not something for a non theatre lover. Sondheim is...an acquired taste, a genius, but something not all non theatre lovers can appreciate.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels or Spamalot. Both are good for a laugh.

My dad isnt huge into musicals but he loved these.

I think maybe DRS. Spamalot is also great for non-theatre people, but it has so many theatrical in-jokes it's better when you're familiar with Broadway. I love Sweeney to death (Ooh! Pun!) but it is a very dark and unconventional show. It's hard to introduce guys to Broadway, but DRS is fun, funny, and topical.
