3hree was never off-broadway. it produced at the Prince music theatre in Philadelphia, and they made the cd with that cast. I wish it would have an off-broadway, or even broadway run. a great time in the theatre!!
"Kander and Ebb's The Visit should have transferred from Chicago's Goodman Theatre to Broadway...it was that good."
If it had, it would have closed as quickly as Steel Pier. I didn't see anything that would appeal to Broadway audiences in The Visit.
I agree with Violet and A New Brain and I'd like to add Return to the Forbidden Planet.

Forbidden Broadway is not only the best off-Broadway musical, but if it transferred (which it never will because that would defeat the point), it would be the MOST SUCCESSFUL show in Broadway history. Honestly, when people come to New York to visit me who have seen a lot of shows and they ask me what Broadway show they should see, I always tell them Forbidden Broadway is better than most of the dreck on the Broadway stage. Forbidden Broadway is in my top 5 favorite shows ever!!!
BARE!! I love this show so much and am still loving in hope that we haven't heard the last of this AWESOME show!

Anything by Jason Robert Brown is a given without even saying.
Violet was a great show too.
Bare needs alot of work but had huge potential. Some of the music was brilliant while others just unbearable.

I don't think The Last 5 Years would work on Broadway. It is a small show that needs to be in an intimate theatre.

I don't know how Bat Boy would've worked in a large theatre... It seems to need an intimate setting. But anyway, I wish it got a chance on Broadway.
i vote for A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE, assuming it played off-broadway. i've only seen a regional production.
i think BARE could have been a hit... the storyline alone is moving. add in a lot of those songs and you've got an amazing show!
