Better to TDF or Rush SCOTTSBORO BOYS?

The only shows I have not yet seen this season thus far are THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, and DRIVING MISS DAISY.
Next on my lineup is SCOTTSBORO BOYS but I hear there are pluses and cons to both the typical TDF seats and the Rush seats. For those who are familiar, which would be better?
Thanks in advance.

Posted: 11/16/10 at 9:40pmI don't know about the TDF seats, but I rushed the show and I was in the front row of the balcony...I don't know if rushing earlier in the day gets you closer seats but they were fine and I got there around 6:15ish.

The rush seats are in the balcony.
If you get them, I recommend trying to avoid the front row if at all possible. The bar is slightly distracting and annoying.

Posted: 11/16/10 at 10:15pmI had TDF seats for last Friday evening in the orchestra G 4&6. Amazing seats. The show is great, enjoy!

Posted: 11/16/10 at 11:42pmI rushed and sat in the balcony, and a friend got a TDF seat and sat in the balcony. Either way though, I could see everything fine. It's a pretty small theater. I didn't feel disconnected or anything.

Posted: 11/17/10 at 11:03amI have a TDF ticket for this show this weekend and I've never done TDF before--when it says "You will be required to pick up your tickets at the box office 30-minutes prior to curtain," what exactly does that mean? Are they available only within 30 minutes of curtain, or that you have to pick it up no later than that?

Posted: 11/17/10 at 9:13pmJust bought TDF tickets for this Sunday. I'll post when I find out where they are. I just hope they're not in the balcony, as I'd rather pay the rush price if I'm going to be assigned a rush seat. . . .

Posted: 11/17/10 at 10:23pmDo TDF. It's a sure thing. You'll have your tickets. You'll be pissed at yourself if you get to the box office and they won't give you a rush ticket.

Posted: 11/17/10 at 10:59pmWhatever you decide just go and see this show. I am back from seeing it this evening, still reeling from the brilliance. Every detail feeds the overall concept. Fast-moving too. Those 100 minutes go by in a flash. And the roar from the audience during the curtain call was ear-shattering, and for once totally deserved. Our musical theatre can't be that moribund when a piece this exciting and challenging gets produced. For the record I was in Row E, center section.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Our TDF seats were front-row mezz, dead center. Perfection.

Posted: 11/23/10 at 6:19amI'm going to rush Scottsboro Boys on Friday, which I know is already busier. What times have people been getting there for rush on a not holiday?
