Having seen four fabulous Dolly Levis this year I find this thread disappointing You know who wouldnt sell tickets in  Ohio and Arizona and Florida and Pennsylvania etc etc Donna and Bernadette and Audra McDonald and Kelli Ohara and Jessie Mueller and Sutton Foster and probably not Patti Lupone. All terrific bona fide stars but outside of NY blah ! Betty is playing in theaters twice the size of the Shubert and the night I went she sang like an angel and the almost full house audience were thrilled.The producers sent out the broadway show with a broadway icon and I am pretty sure they are happy she agreed to take it on. I suspect lots of folks thought they were being offered the gig and I am equally sure none of them were up for it. I just hope that the next time Scott Rudin decides to resurrect an old show they tackle Mame and cast Betty Buckley and Bebe Neuwirth on Broadway where they both belong Or they could send this Dolly to London where Olivier Award nominated Betty Buckley would certainly sell tickets.
