I love beyonce's voice and i think she is excellent, but i can't see her playing as Christine in Phantom.

Absolutely Not.

It would be a slap in the face of every classically trained singer in New York and, frankly, the world. She is a good R&B singer, not a primadonna. She would have made a good Aida, maybe a good Lady of the Lake. I would see her as Gary Coleman in AQ. Even as a Dynamite in Hairspray. I Dont know....just not POTO. I mean the show is gorgeous, it doesn't need a destiny's child remix. I can already picture her trying to sex up the costumes. She's a great beauty, a good actress and a formidable vocalist, but, just plain no!

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think Christine is that great of a role aside from the lushness of the music and being a good showcase for a strong voice. It could be a great role if it was fleshed out a bit to make it seem like she's actually a real person instead of just a reason for the Phantom to be obsessed so the plot can unfold. (why he would be obsessed with someone so lifeless, I don't know)

lol rentboy...

Idk but I guess it could work, it did in Beauty and the Beast with Toni Braxton but, personally, a black Christine would be like a white Aida.

BobbyBubby--The Grand Slam of Awards (aka, winning an Oscar, Tony, Grammy & Emmy) isn't about just having received one.

For a performer, it's having won these awards in a competitive category, and as a performer. So awards for Songwriting, Producing, or Honorary awards aren't usually counted here, when people speak about the Grand-Slam Winners of the past. That's why the list is SO SMALL.

I think the only one that is still alive now is Rita Moreno. She won all four major awards in competitive performance categories.

(Helen Hayes and Charles Laughton have both passed on.)

The fact that Beyonce would like to have them... hell, so would I. I don't see any problem in her going for that. But she'll have to commit to doing a Broadway show. AND she'll have to get nominated, AND win. Yeah, it's a "pie in the sky" dream, but she's entitled to have one as much as anyone is.

Beyonce was kinda weird to the fab 5 at the beginning of the Vh1 "big in 04" awards. Just in case anyone has that show taped.

^^^O the VH1 2004, I will attempt to find it. I am sure she didn't mean anything. Did you she her give an Award to Michael Jackson at the AMA in 2003. She kinda weird then. But someone asked her how was that...and it all made sense...MJ was her icon and that was and honor for her to be on the same stage with him. I don't think it was anything more to it just as with the fab 5. I thought one of the fab 5 was married?

ellen...i really think Beyonce is very talented...i like her destiny's child cds and i think she is very stylish and all that...but she seemed so disgusted by the gay guys from queer eye...that made me furious....and then...she said that the gay kiss between madonna and britney was "degrating" i found that offensive. and by the way...i hate her cd "dangerous in love" the first 2 songs are good...and that's it! i prefer kelly rowland's "simply deep" 100 times.

She could really work in the classical world

To Muscle23ftl: This conversation seems fruitless. I am opt-ing out of it. Its your choice... to believe as you will... I am not here to judge or blast anybody or to usurp one celebrity over then other. Hey if thats what you want to understand 'bout Beyonce....toot your horn. I don't have a problem with people who have opinions...as long as they are objective. And since I think your opinion of her is subjective...I am done with reasoning with you.

...but hey no hard feelings here.

Not only is this thread on crack, it is also on cocaine, bong, heroine, jacked-up-ness, and general insanity.

Not saying that she shouldn't be given the opportunity, but it would probably make many people...unhappy.
