100% yes. She has an electrifying stage presence and a killer voice.

I feel she is too good on stage (in concerts) and gets too much into the character of her songs to not be a great actress (with time and dedication). I think that if she really gets a role that allows her to really get into that dramatic part of her, she'd be awesome. She was fantastic in the Oscar opener a few years ago!
I'd love to see her in something that really lets her knock em' dead. I don't know why but I feel she'd be great in something Lloyd Webber (Narrator in Joseph??). Maybe she could do Anything Goes one day?
She CAN'T act. Did you see DEREAMGIRLS?
She can barely speak.
Stick to Lip-synching concerts and booty shaking, please.

Dreamgirls was actually the best she's done in comparison to her other films.

I wouldn't say she can't act...she was good in Obsessed and fantastic in Cadillac Records. It's a process for her but I think she's dedicated to getting better, she's a hardworker.
@CurtainPull Beyonce doesn't lip sync...she doesn't need to, her vocals are killer live. I can't believe you said that, LOL. She could be way better as a stage actor then a film actor, they are both different.
I respect people's opinions, that's the whole point of this topic, but why are they saying no? Can someone please post why they feel like she wouldn't be good? I mean her voice overpowers a good amount of Broadway singers, she's a powerhouse, even live...

Justin, perhaps you could speak to why you think she would even want to do it. She's a hugely popular recording artist, between her and Jay Z, they have a zillion business ventures going, appearances, endorsements etc. She's got an 18 month old child at home and she's pregnant with her second child due by the end of 2013. She's a singer whose dabbled in films as a sideline to her singing so it's not like she feels she needs to do a Broadway show to validate her acting career. Her voice is her career, why would she risk it to do the 8 show a week grind. I could be wrong but I don't think there have been rumors of her wanting to do Broadway in the near future and I can't think of a single reason why she'd want to.
But Beyonce does want to be taken seriously as an actress, plus she needs to do a Broadway show eventually if she wants the EGOT, which I'm pretty sure she does.

I think she would make a fantastic leading player down the line. I would love to hear her knock "Glory" out of the park.

First, Beyonce would never ever consider replacing someone. She's one of the biggest stars in the world, and she just wouldn't do that. A revival? Yes, perhaps-- but I would think she'd be most attracted to new work, written for her. In my opinion, with the right show, yes, yes, yes.
Beyonce is indeed insanely magnetic, she's the real deal, but an actress she ain't. She can never become a character, she delivers line, and she has been at it long enough that she should have gotten better by now. Some people have it, some don't, she doesn't. She's not funny though, she actually has almost no sense of humor (Justin Timberlake had to personally beg her *a lot* before she agreed to do the SNL sketch mocking "Single Ladies"), so I don't know why people want to see her in something like SISTER ACT, which only works if you have a true comedienne in the lead. She'd be good in something that doesn't call for a lot of subtlety and preferably sung-through, SUNSET BLVD comes to mind. She should never ever try to do GYPSY.
Apart from Listen in Dreamgirls, the gurl needs to stay away from film, tv, broadway. Just stay away!
@Patrick I agree with you. Right now, I don't see her being in any roles on Broadway with the shows that's running at the moment. A revival, I can really see that.
No! Can't imagine that fur-loving wretch in any show!
Margo!
Has there ever been a black Christine on Broadway...LizzieCurry?
Beyonce is wonderfully talented, and definitely shines in live performances, but pop concerts, like films, are a different medium than stage work.
Beyonce shines when performing her own music because she's playing BEYONCE. It's the same concept as any actor who is famous for a particular role or character type (i.e., Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper): The performer either struggles to come up with a completely new and original interpretation of a character, or audiences refuse to look past that particular performer's persona or previous work. So it's entirely plausible that B would either end up portraying herself because she doesn't know how to portray another person, or people won't be able to see her as anything BUT Beyonce because her persona is so strongly implanted in their minds.
I really do love Beyonce, and I think she's a great live performer. I just don't see her doing as well in a book musical as she would in a concert performance of a show - the acting is still required, but it won't be as much of a stretch since the main focus of a concert is the music (y'know, her stronger talent).

NO!
First, she'd have to sing live without lipping for 8 shows and I don't think she's capable of pulling that off.
Second, her acting is atrocious. Someone actually thought she was good in "Obsessed?" Wow! Her speaking voice is terrible. She was playing herself in "Dreamgirls." There was no way she was going to make a mess of that.
And a big fat NO to her being in "Aida."
I actually liked her in the Dreamgirls film.
But, I don't think she'd be able to pull off 8 shows a week (and I imagine she has an ego and wouldn't do matinees). Listening to some of her performances of "Listen" live just don't sound anywhere near as good as when touched up in the studio.
It's been a long time since I've watched DREAMGIRLS, but I remember being more impressed with Beyoncé than J-Hud.
Then again, I was more impressed by Eddie Murphy than either of them, and overall not very impressed by the movie to begin with. So my memory of my opinion of it is fuzzy and not to be trusted.
Let's let her do this A STAR IS BORN remake first.
And Christine? Hell to the no. I'd rather see Cee Lo play the Phantom.

I think the Star is Born remake is off b/c of the whole Clint Eastwood drama about the President. But I feel she should at least get a chance to do something on stage, stage acting is diff from movies from what I've seen and learned. Plus I think she would sound amazing...I mean anybody who can sing Get Me Bodied (from her second album B'Day) and dance the way she does night after night (with a show of more than 20 songs) can pull off anything lol
