Just caught the end of Christine Pedi's program on XM. Did I hear right? Big River revival coming in 2019? I would LOVE this.

I don't know, though it would certainly come full circle if Michael Arden was directing since he appeared in the last revival.

I really hope so. As I missed the Deaf West production, I was hoping it would come along again. I adore the show and its score is one of my all-time favorites.

Obviously, I have no idea about any of this, but didn't the Encores production last year get some flack for not really handling race well? Especially in today's political climate? I'm not completely sure (and I have never seen the show, so I'm going off of reviews here), but if they got some of those critiques, it doesn't seem like a smart move for producers to revive this show now.

I just asked her via social media. Maybe she will answer. What was the flack the Encores production got? It is a wonderful show and open to many creative point of views.

It didn't cause an uproar or anything, I just thought it was interesting to bring up. Again, it's not my own opinion, so I can't really argue on either side of the issue.
