Did anyone else see the piece on CBS Sunday Morning just now about Bill Berloni and his career rescuing animals and training them for theatre? It was very touching.

What a wonderful interview!

I did a production of ANNIE WARBUCKS when I was in middle school and Bill Berloni was hired to use his dog Cindy Lou for our Sandy. He was such a nice man.

It's wonderful how he only uses shelter animals.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Bill Berloni. What a gem of a person.

I was 12 years old when ANNIE opened on Broadway at the Alvin Theatre (now the Neil Simon Theatre) in April 1977. I used to spend my summers in Manhattan and was keen to walk around the theatre district with my cousins during the afternoons and sneaking into theatres via their stage doors.

Thru this we had the chance to bump into Berloni and maintained and cool friendship thru the years. He always let us into the backstage area and hang-out with Sandy and Arf (Sandy's standby) as well anyone with him. Some days we got to hang-out with whoever got to the theatre early... from the young girls to some of the principals. The atmosphere at the Alvin during those years was magical and very welcoming and still holds a special place in my childhood.

About a year ago I bumped into Sarah Jessica Parker at a store on Prince Street and she actually remembered me and those cousins of mine from those days. Wow!
