Billy Elliot Student Rush???

I was just wondering if anyone new if Billy Elliot has a student rush program going? I am DYING to see the show but I am in college and therefore have no money

Anyone know if they're doing this?

This is from the official website of Billy Elliot

Student Rush tickets are available only at the Imperial Theatre Box Office starting 2 hours before the performance (for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday performances only). Tickets are usually priced $80. All Student Rush ticket purchases require a valid and current student ID, with a limit of two (2) tickets per ID, and are subject to availability. The tickets are $40 a piece.

Billy Elliot does not have a general rush or lottery ticket policy.

Yay!!

This is awesome. Definitely more affordable for a college student that's for sure! Now I can go see the show!

Have you seen it? What are your thoughts?

I have seen the show about five times. Four here and once in London. It should also be noted that the last two rows of the rear mezz are only 41.50 and they offer a center view. There is really no bad seat in the house. I have sat in the last row of the mezz and partial view orch and they are always wonderful seats. Enjoy.

I'm assuming these are rear mezzanine side seats since they say the seats were originally $80? Can anyone confirm? I know they were pushing these seats to me when I tried buying tickets once. I opted with rear mezzanine row G center instead of row D on the side. Great view, even from back there. They were even great when I saw August: Osage County from up there.

How is 40 dollars affordable student pricing? I can barely afford to pay 35 or whatever it is for Shrek lol. I wanna see Billy Elliot really bad, but I don't know if partial view in the orchestra will be a good seat..should I splurge over spring break and check it out?

So I just checked on the website and it says that the student rush applies to all $80 tickets. Then I looked at the seating guide and from best I can tell these tickets include both center and side seats.

I think its a deal. So I'm totally going to check it out tonight. Half price for a new show is pretty good in my book.

haha, I hear ya, but at least Billy Elliot is worth it. Shrek, on the other hand, is not worth $35 at all.

All in all, great news about this show having student rush. At least now there's the option of getting the $80 for $40 in addition to the regularly-priced $41.50 seats.
Has anyone rushed it yet?

So I rushed last night. The seats were so great! I sat in the center seats in the rear mezz and it was a fantastic view of the stage. Totally worth the $40 and then some. From what I could tell there really isn't a bad seat in the house.

The show was great too. The Billy I had was Kiril, who absolutely killed it!!

I will be rushing again most defintely. I totally wanna catch the other Billys perform!

Anyone else gonna try the rush?

I was there too last night, in pre-bought center rear mezz. There really ISN'T a bad seat in that house, since the Imperial's very compact and steep.

lol, was everyone there last night? Kiril was indeed amazing, even more than the first time I saw him in the show. Section 4 fourth to last row was great seating, but I did manage to snag a box for the second half. none of the ones on house right were sold, and seeing electricity that close... whew! Has anyone gotten anything but rear mezz with this rush?

Last Wed I went over after I lost the WSS lottery and got tix easily, around 6:20ish. Not a bad line either.

Ah, so there IS a regular student rush! Fantastic. I was wondering how so many people have been able to see this show four, five, nine, seventeen times without completely breaking the bank, and I guess that $40, while still sort of steep, beats an $80+ ticket.
