According to a poster at Dress Circle, a British message board similar to this one, excavation is actually going on in preparation for Billy Elliot:

"They've been digging underneath the VP [Victoria Palace] because the kitchen of Billy's house rises from under the stage and its Huge....
After seeing the boys on the RVP [Royal Variety Performance].... I think this could be a VERY special show if everything falls into place....."

I LOVE Billy Elliot!!!! I wanted to audition for the role but I'm to old. Oh well, it's only a dream...

Am I the only one who HATES the audio samples from the website? I listened to them earlier today and I just can't believe that a musical with such bad music is going ahead! The lyrics are clumsy and the melodies and harmonies, frankly, sound very amateurish and like an 8 year-old has tried to write a hit pop song...
Maybe these samples do not do justice to the musical, but honestly, I was emabarassed listening to them.
