Biz up; 'Drowsy' 913g

Can somebody with a Variety account post this article here?

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

That article is an analysis of LAST week's numbers (the ones that came out Monday). Variety always takes a week to put out that info. No news on how the box office did for the current week ending today will be out until tomorrow afternoon.

Well they are calling it the word of mouth musical. My best friend and I saw it in June and came back to Denver raving about it. We know of a number of people who, because of how much we loved it, saw it on their trip to NYC.

Today was sold out...as were the standing room tickets. I was lucky enough to win the lottery. Veanne Cox also won the Drowsy lottery today!

PS...that was all with Sutton still out. Angela Pupello was great as Janet.

I am glad that 'Drowsy' is doing so well. It really is a good show. And I agree that it is a word of mouth musical.

I'm so happy Drowsy is doing so well. IMHO it's the heart of Broadway at the moment, and the fact that the Tonys didn't cause it to close is fantastic. Congrats word of mouth original musicals, Drowsy, and the entire cast!

Edit- HEY! They had an add in the times on the tenth!

I've sent at least 20 Houstonians to Drowsy who are all spreading the word now... It's truly a word of mouth show, and rightly so! What a great show!

I am not surprised it is doing well. The show is so well-structured and has a top-of-the-notch cast (I'm a fan of ensemble pieces), it has a rather ingenous way of dealing with its unabashedly escapist nature. I'm glad it's doing good business.

"Word of mouth" is sure travelling a lot faster than it used to.

I'm glad this show has "legs" as they say out here on the left coast... (which has nothing to do with Foster's fine gams!)
