Got my advance student tickets today for The History Boys and Festen. I cannot fully express how wonderful it is to be able to get student tickets in advance. You don't have to deal with standing in line forever and worrying about getting in or not. Makes me very happy.
I wonder why more shows don't do this, besides the obvious that they could sell them at full price, which doesn't really apply to most shows unless it's Wicked or Spamalot or stars Julia Roberts. Since most have space anyway I don't see why not.
I know the Public Theatre downtown has student tickets for $25 in advance and $15 a half hour before the show. That sounds like the best plan, that way you can play by ear or in advance.
What do you guys think? Also, see my related thread above this for a funny story of what happened in line at The History Boys today.

Where are the seats for The History Boys?
My seat is in the second row of the orchestra in the center. The man at the box office told me the stage isn't very high, so hopefully it'll be fine.
