		     			BLIND ITEM
What Broadway replacement may have the producers of his show feeling that he's more trouble than he's worth? Not only have they had to keep paying the actor whom he took the role from, but now the replacement has told them that he won't perform during the week of the Republican Convention due to his staunch Democratic politics.

hmm -- not sure who this could be - Maybe Micheal McKean? He's the only recent replacement I can think of with a real "billing" -- but I am not sure the RNC folks would be into Hairpsray...
Why have they had to keep paying the actor that he took over from?
McKean didn't replace a fired actor. Only if the actor was let go would he still be collecting a salary.
But if they have to keep paying the original actor, that means that actor was 'let go'...which leads me to believe it's Roger Bart.

But why would one not perform that week in a show that is anti-Bush?

Roger Bart?
Robbiej you beat me to it.
You might be right, Robbie.
Robbie -- thanks, I stand corrected...I missed the point of the story...

I have some trouble believing it is Roger Bart - but that does seem like a situation that fits. But Roger can't be more trouble than he's worth - everyone has said how much better he is in the role (including Susan, Nathan, pretty much everyone). I guess we'll have to see who is out that week...

Joey Mac?
Norbert wasn't 'let go', was he?

Could it be George Hearn?

Are they still paying Joel Grey while he's out on sick leave?

Roger Bart--he's so....nice and agreeable.
Robbie, another good possibility!!
I think it's Jarico.
Mr. George Hearn. Joel is still getting a paycheck.
Why would Roger not want to perform in an 'anti-bush' show during the bloody convention?

Where is this Blind Item from anyway?
Can you imagine, those of us who work in lowly REAL jobs trying that? "Sorry, boss, due to my staunch Democratic beliefs, I'm taking the week of the convention off." "Okay. Just don't bother to come back at all though, because we will have to replace you." Jeez!! I don't understand the point he's making.

Does it have to be a boy b/c I heard that the producers of Wicked had a lot of trouble w/ Kristen Chenoweth. But I don't believe it.

I don't think it would be Roger. I can't picture him having enough "power" to say when he is working and when he isn't, but I may be wrong.

EDIT: Spelling error

I have to agree -- a) bart is too dedicated and nice a guy for this to make sense and b) the Frogs would be exactly the show you'd WANT to be doing during the RNC if you are a democrat

I'm sure Lane will be doing some adlibbing at that time and it would be fun to be there for the barbs.
