Bob Dylan Tony Eligiblity?

I just looked at the recent Tony eligibility rulings and noticed it didn't say anything about Bob Dylan's eligibility for Best Score. I would imagine he is not eligible because the score for "North Country" was not written for the theatre. But I found it out that the Tonys did not make a definitive statement. Is it possible "North Country" is eligible for Best Score?

Bob Dylan Tony Eligiblity?

As JSquared said, his eligibility (or lack thereof) was never in question. Pre-existing scores are not eligible at the Tonys, ever. If there's ever any doubt, it's because of the percentage of the original vs. pre-existing material. But in this case, it's all pre-existing, so there was no need for the committee to make a statement on it.

I don't mean to be snarky, but is there any particular reason you thought it might be eligible?

Dylan isn't even credited as an Orchestrator, so they couldn't use the Billy Joel/Movin' out loophole. Nor is he credited as a Producer.

The Tonys COULD bestow a special award on him. But that seems unlikely, and I don't think has been done for any other songwriters whose music has been heard in catalogue shows. He didn't have any direct involvement with GIRL, to my knowledge.
