J-Lo Damn Yankees Mar 2 2026, 11:21:13 PM
I’m sure she has been approached. I bet she’s been approached for a lot of roles over the years. Whether that means anything or not is a whole different matter. This one at least has a direct connection because of Sergio.
I’m not a JLO hater and I think she could be very good in a number of different musicals and plays. But at the moment I have a hard time seeing her do 6-8 shows a week for 9-12 months, which would be needed to make the numbers work. Start wi

Cats: The Jellicle Ball to Broadway Mar 1 2026, 07:28:57 PM
everythingtaboo said: "I really want to buy a ticket, but these prices are ridiculous especially when you can see this show is clearly not selling, most dates I see see the same holds and way too much of the theatre is at$250+."
Then wait! Don't buy now. It isn't going to sell out overnight.

Cats: The Jellicle Ball to Broadway Feb 28 2026, 11:37:37 AM
If BEACHES indeed has one of the highest advances, it may be related to group sales and it being the most down-the-middle musical of the season. It doesn't deal with vampires or race, it's not a parody, it's not a gay fantasia, and it has more than two characters. You could take a middle school kid or a 90 year old and they might leave saying "oh that was nice." [I haven't seen the show and personally think it sounds boring and a flop in th

Hugh Jackman & Ella Beatty to lead off-Broadway SEXUAL MISCONDUCT OF THE MIDDLE CLASSES in rep with Liev Schrieber-led CREDITORS Feb 27 2026, 11:19:44 AM
SEXUAL MISCONDUCT OF THE MIDDLE CLASSES is returning to the Minetta Lane with Jackman & Beatty starting March 17.
Some dates are already onsale via Ticketmaster, some go on sale later today, but it doesn't seem there's been a press release...a funny way to roll this out!
Good for Hugh continuing to return to smaller-scale theatre.

Oh Mary Tour Feb 26 2026, 11:54:19 AM
Local press being such a big part of a touring play’s ad plan, seems like they need a star with some name value. Like a 90s/2000s SNL lady who hasn’t done much lately. A Cheri Oteri type.

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 2/22/26 Feb 25 2026, 09:15:19 AM

jcm and simu are playing to almost sold out houses nearly every night"
And the show recouped 15 months ago. There is money in the bank. They can afford to hire a lesser name like JCM if they think there’s a bigger name in the wings.

OH, MARY (West End Replacements) Feb 24 2026, 11:26:12 AM
Emma Thompson might be my dream British Mary. But I've always heard over the years that she has no interest in doing a run of a full production on stage (though other stars have also said that and changed their minds).

Oh wow Catherine Tate will be great.

I would also love to see this.
I don't really have high hopes for NY outside of the Broadway nonprofits. Or maybe someplace like Theatre for a New Audience if the rightsholders would be willing to sanction an off-Bway run? It'd be very difficult to raise Broadway-level money or sust

Official: TITANIQUE to dock at the St. James, March 2026 (16 Weeks Only) Feb 20 2026, 08:41:08 AM
I’ve never seen Melissa demonstrate comedic chops, and from what I’ve seen she’s a stronger actor and dancer than singer. So it’s rather bizarre casting. Lot of different comedy and acting styles in this now (and personalities) for a green director to navigate.
Maybe it’ll surprise but my expectations are low.

Question about Tony eligibility for score this season Feb 18 2026, 07:33:36 PM
I don't think there's any minimum amount of score needed to qualify, right? If a play has an original score, it will be a contender. I would assume 5 nominees unless we hear otherwise.
(once again, woof, what a weird season)

Lead Actress in a Play 2026 Feb 15 2026, 06:36:38 AM
In any other year, Carrie, Leslie, or Laurie would be front runner. I think Lesley has the edge, and Laurie will also have a shot in Featured for Salesman.
As for the other two ladies in the category, it’s anyone’s guess - tho if they love LIBERATION and that’s the best play frontrunner, it would be silly to overlook Flood.
I left Marjorie Prime thinking everyone in it should be placed in Featured.

OEDIPUS Reviews Feb 11 2026, 10:34:28 PM
I somehow managed to see this a second time right before it closed, and IMHO it's one of the great productions of the past decade. Absolutely riveting adaptation, acting, and directing from start to finish. Give it awards and maybe even adapt it into a feature film.

This is not new behavior on this board, but it’s a simple reality of Broadway financials

That’s a big house for Raul to fill single-handedly in his first Broadway show since LEAP OF FAITH. Especially with a fall opening.

Ben Platt to lead UK premiere of MIDNIGHT AT THE NEVER GET Feb 9 2026, 08:03:31 AM

It got a rave from Laura Collins-Hughes in the NYT for its York Theatre production pre-Covid.
The author, Mark Sonnenblick, is likely to win an Oscar for “Golden” from KPOP DEMON HUNTERS, and is also the new co-lyricist on the London DEVIL WEARS PRADA. Here he’s written the book, music and lyrics.

LMM working on THE WARRIORS musical? Feb 7 2026, 05:33:21 PM
RichieRSRich said: "Why did he change the whole thing?"
Because he (and Eisa Davis) wanted to, and when you write the biggest musical in a generation you get carte blanche to do what you want.
