I know I'm an authority on all things Bob Fosse but this one has me stumped:
What is the title/name of the fictious musical he is working on which the number "Take Off with Us" is in. Is the show's title ever mentioned? I could swear it is something like ACES HIGH or close to this.
Without having time to watch the entire film again, I rewatched the obvious sections of the film where they would mention it -- like the first table reading, but of course... no title is mentioned.
As far as I know, the musical's title is never mentioned, though it is a fictional counterpart to "Chicago." In addition, the "Take Off With Us/Air-otica" debacle was based on his attempts to stage the song "Razzle Dazzle," which had been intended as a crowd-pleasing number with single potential, as an orgy on the steps of Capitol Hill.
No, it is mentioned once. I don't remember when, but it's called NY/LA.
Oh! I thought that the production number was being referred to as NY/LA, much like the way numbers in several Fosse shows have two names ("We Both Reached For The Gun/Press Conference Rag," "Glory Pt 2./Manson Trio").
I think it's even in the end credits, where those who appeared in the "first reading" scene are listed as NY/LA players.
A glance at the All That Jazz page on IMDB confirms what jv92 has been saying. A few people there are credited as "Cast of NY/LA", so that would be the title.
