"The Broadway premiere of Irving Berlin's White Christmas will feature Tony Award nominee Stephen Bogardus plus Kerry O'Malley, Jeffry Denman, Meredith Patterson, Susan Mansur and Charles Dean, all of them veterans of earlier regional productions of the popular Walter Bobbie-directed show.
Previews for the limited engagement of the splashy musical comedy begin Nov. 14 at the Marquis Theatre toward a Nov. 23 opening. The musical, which has tap-happy choreography by Randy Skinner (42nd Street), has already been seen in hit seasonal engagements (since 2004) in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Detroit, Toronto, Boston and St. Paul.
Pairing up as they have in other markets are Falsettos and Love! Valour! Compassion! vet Bogardus and Into the Woods alumna O'Malley as Bob and Betty (they were together in Boston in 2005 and in St. Paul in 2006), and Denman (The Producers) and Patterson (42nd Street) as Phil and Judy (they created the roles in the 2004 San Francisco world premiere). Dean and Mansur play Gen. Waverly and Martha (roles they originated in 2004), who run a New England inn that becomes the central setting for the story of Army vets and showbiz pals Phil and Bob teaming up with a sister act to save the inn at Christmastime..."

Meh. Surprise surprise.
What's with the "meh"?
I was hoping for Anastasia Barzee to reprise her role as Betty Haynes, and find it outstanding that the two original supporting players from the SF cast were given roles in the Broadway production. What a great opportunity for them!
Congratulations to Susan Mansur and Charles Dean!
Where the hell is Karen Morrow? Without her there is no reason to see this silly show.
Yeah, I wondered about that as well...love her on the cast recording. But Mansur was fantastic in SF.
Well, I'm interested in this show. I hope that Mark Ledbetter will get called back for the show. He's a great dancer and singer. He has done a great job on The Drowsy Chaperone Tour and it just made me feel worse for missing White Christmas when it was in SF. I'm hoping I'll get to go back to the Marquis to see this show finally on Broadway. It's on my Christmas List this year.
All of you grumpy people can just stay home and watch television. If I put out that much money, I don't want it spoiled by complainers. Post all you want though. I rather you vent it here.

Can't wait to see this show!
I'm seriously considering flying out from SF to see this!
The story I heard was that Morrow wasn't happy doing the show. I'm sure she was fab.
But still...what a great cast!!!
are you serious? How could she not be happy doing this show???
I know! How could you not LOVE being in this show! But from what I heard...she just didn't. Who knows - maybe the scheduling or the number of shows a week. Yeah, it doesn't seem like much, but supposedly she didn't cotton to it.
I do know the Boston cast is very tight. They couldn't take part in Jeffry's rap videos if they weren't!
The real Phil Davis - 2007
love those...and love how they got McCollum and Bobbie in on the second video.

I'm really looking forward to this. I've had the Sh-K-Boom recording for over a year and never listened to it, but I listened to it this week for the first time and love it. Berlin certainly knew how to write a song; so timeless and beautiful. And whoever did the orchestrations...Larry Blank...fantastic. Lush, variable...it's so exciting to hear scores that feature the musicians. And tap dancing. I'm pretty excited.
Might have to see this just to see Jeffry Denman back on Broadway...and to tell him how awesome his book was.
