"Bombay Dreams" closing? Thank God.

Not very creative, are we, Princeton?
Plum,
"Bombay Dreams" wasn't creative...why should I be?
It's ok! Better luck next time
Now that a thread is created, did anyone see it tonight?
Edit: I know QueenMuppet did, but I would love a review of how the show went.

It's really lovely to see a so-called theater fan unmercifully cheering the closing of shows, Princeton. The fact that you responded in the exact same way to the closing threads of Bombay Dreams and 42nd Street only made it lovelier. *applause* These things really bring out the best in people- such malice.
Plum,
Don't get your knickers in a twist.
I have an opinion and I am entitled to voice it. I happen to be a big theatre fan and a large financial supporter of the performing arts. It just so happens that 2 shows that have (in my opinion) run their course happen to be closing and I for one happen to be glad that 2 large houses are now open. Actually, I'm not terribly excited about the incoming shows at the Hilton and the Broadway, but I'll give them a shot. The beauty of this board is that people are allowed to voice their opinion. My comments show no malice to anyone in particular and much worse is said on this board on a daily basis. Let's end the sarcasm, respect each other's opinions and keep looking forward to more good theatre in NY.
Cheers!
What shows are taking their places? (I have not looked up yet where the new shows are going).
Hilton Theater-Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Broadway Theatre-Mambo Kings
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Mambo Kings.
Thanks Princetion and Munku.
I am very interested to see CCBB, but am not familiar with The Mambo Kings. Any info on that show?
Just that it's based on the film and it must be planned to be a large show if it's filling the Broadway Theater.

I didn't particularly care for either of those shows, myself. But even if their closing seems like some sort of victory (though for what I'm not sure), it feels wrong to dance on a corpse. They're closing. Great. No need to rub it in.
And as for the replacement shows...well, I remember sort of liking the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang movie when I was a kid. But I like a lot of weird things when I was a kid.

I don't know anything about Mambo Kings.
Chitty in London was pretty irritating and awful - hopefully it will be better once it gets here - things have a way of doing that. Plus, there's a better cast.
I do adore Raul Esparza, but was secretly hoping they would have brought Michael Ball over since I have been dying to see him in person for as long as I can remember.
It won't matter though...Marc Kudish is going to be in it. It's a hit in my book.
"BD" and "42S" closing are not victories, I'm not dancing on any graves, I am just sighing with relief that there is now room for something new.

I guess I misinterpreted the meaning of "Thank God" then, and for that I apologize.
Not an isssue
*waves hands around*
I'm over it. I'm in my happy place. :)
sarcasm...

My happy place involves a lot of sushi. Which, unfortunately, is not forthcoming at the moment, so here I sit, being a crank. Anyhoo, I'm looking forward to reading final show reports, because those are usually interesting.
Hehe..Munk...sadly that was not sarcastic at all.
Believe me, I can show you sarcasm.
Hehe..Prince...sadly I was not talking to you at all.
Believe me, I was referring to Plum's post about misunderstanding "thank god."
