Nope, not sarcastic. When I apologize, I mean it.
Oh - I actually laughed when I read it. Had you been sarcastic, you would have been funny. HAha...
Sorry Princeton.
Princeton=not giving this another thought
I was there tonight, I'm not a big fan of the show but I didn't hate it like most people do. I really just enjoyed Manu Narayan's performance a lot.
BOMBAY DREAMS was suppossed to run forever. This is a mistake. Updated On: 1/2/05 at 01:16 AM
I was there tonight (we were the folks Row C house left clapping, I'm the one that got called out by the MK Kumar character during the "Idian Academy Awards" segment for my "woo" when Akaash was named!) Tom Meehan was first row center. It's certainly not the best show I've ever seen, and there's a lot worse on Broadway doing a lot better...but the I personally found a lot to love about BD every time I saw it, and everyone I've brought to the show has loved it and told more and more people. No one could stop raving!
There was never enough advertising push given for it, not even a billboard!, and it just couldn't survive in the financial wave that was Wicked and BFO, even though let's face it, reviews for all the shows were pretty mixed.
I was very sad to see a new sound on Broadway to be hushed prematurely. And to see the detail that went into the costumes, lights and scenery gone just like that, it's sad for a fan of any show. Especially an "underdog" like this was.
I spoke to the cast tonight, and while it seems details of the tour are a bit vague at this point, a couple mentioned that the costumes were sold to a company in Australia, so it possible that maybe next season we'll see Bombay Dreams down under!
I for one will miss Bombay Dreams and wish the cast all the best.
...and now, let the cattiness continue where it left off
Ohhh woohoo, I was row G house left, I wasn't far behind you then.

I was wondering how Tamyra Gray did? I am a huge fan of hers and am so mad that I missed the show.
Yes, was there too. And have to admit, I liked the show. It's certainly not as bad as people say it is. Good fun, it did work for me (unlike the Draculas and Brooklyns on Broadway).
Everythingtaboo, I heard you make that noise, that was actually quite funny... well, made me smile anyway
I was a bit surprised and disappointed that there were no speeches at all and I assume lots of people wouldn't have known it was a closing night. In fact, my neighbour told me how much he'd enjoyed it and that he'd bring his friends next time.
Good to see that the house was almost full. And absolutely loved Manu's performance too, hope to see him in another project at some stage.

Manu's performance and the percussionists made the show worth it in my book...Manu's so hot!
QM, were you clapping along during the Bhangra? I think my row was the only ones that kept the clap going the whole number. We were determined to have fun and make sure the cast knew we were supporting them. I also felt a "Woo" was in order because I hate that Awards scene, where it's onstage and news report blobbed together, not Tom's finest moment as a writer.
In all, they did a great job last night, really putting extra effort into all their performances. The people behind me didn't care for Tamyra, and the greenness in her acting shows (not like she has much script to work with) but I for one love her voice. She definitely deserves another shot on Broadway. The dancers were cheering each other on during all the dance sequences, and people were tearing up all over the place. Very bittersweet.
I was suprised that there were no speeches last night. Hell, even Urban Cowboy had speeches! I guess all the main creatives are in London for the New Year, aside from Tom, and that's usually who speaks, from my experience.
While Manu didn't mention Lennon, isn't he still in talks for the show this summer at the Broadhurst? Can't wait!
How full was the house? Any other special moment happen?
This is all a big mistake. The show will play again on Tuesday.
Oh, everythingtaboo, I was rockin' and rollin' in my mezzanine.
My joy was a bit influenced by an extremely smelly neighbour and I was honestly about to ask her if she wanted a bit of my perfume in the interval. I'm not lying.
The ensemble did a wonderful job and the extra boost of energy was very noticeable, but then again, they've always been very energetic.
Keep us all in the loop about Manu's future plans (you seem to know your stuff), I'll be there for it! Yes!

I was there also! I was sitting front row center. It was my first time seeing the show and I honestly thought I was going to hate it but it was awsome. I LOVED all the flashy dance numbers. I went home and practiced the dance moves infront of my mirror..haha. Did anyone see when 2 pieces of costume or jewlery rolled off the stage into the left isle?
Before the show..a random lady from the orchestra pit started talking to me and she said that it was very unlikely for a tour to happen because she said it "wouldnt do well around America". She did say it was going to go to Toronto and Vancouver because of the large Indian population.
