Posted: 8/3/14 at 7:39pmapparently Brian Sears(Standby Cunningham - B'way) had to be flown out to Seattle on Friday to play Elder Cunningham. Nick Laughlin(company swing) made his Cunningham debut on Thursday. Just curious if anyone knows what happened to Cody Jamison Strand or the tours' two standbys - Nyk Bielak & Rob Colletti. BTW, Nick Laughlin is the third cover in the tour.

Per his twitter, Nyk is in New York--more shuffles with the 3 casts again?
But bravo to Sears. I've heard really positive things about his Cunningham.

Posted: 8/3/14 at 7:59pmalso found out that Colletti was scheduled to play Cunningham all this week in Seattle(assuming that CJS is on vacation). Which would've left that tour with Laughlin as the only Cunningham cover. If CJS did indeed have a scheduled vacation, why not wait another week to send Bielak back to NY??

From reading his twitter feed, I'm guessing that CJS is sick and that it came on quickly. David Larson posted that he's had 3 different Cunninghams this week.
The scenario you described is a confusing one. If they knew someone was going to be out, why would they risk making themselves short handed? With 2 stand bys on the tour, I can't imagine Nick Loughlin has had much Cunningham rehearsal.

Nick Laughlin (not Loughlin) is a swing and they may have needed him for other roles.
Nyk Bielak had been filling in as Cunningham during the 1NT's stop in Ottawa.
It's actually not super unprecedented that they were precariously low on covers. When Kevin Duda left the Broadway cast temporarily for the pre-Broadway production of Beautiful in San Francisco, Matt Doyle's only Price cover was KJ Hippensteel, who actually was moved into the ensemble into Kevin's old track (Hitler, Cunningham's dad, etc...).

Any idea who is covering for David Larsen at the moment? Ryan Bondy is currently a Price standby with the Broadway company and Kyle Selig just left last week to get ready for the PIPPIN tour.
