As a rule of thumb, unless I absolutely have no choice and desperately want to see the show, I never do box seats. They look exclusive but are always partial view, no matter the theater.
As close to the center as you can get, no matter how high, should always be the goal imho. Box seats are always the furtherest to the sides.
Also, I haven't done this since I was a kid, but an older couple was sitting next to me at Mr. Saturday Night. We were very high in the mezzanine; they had binoculars. This is a cool, fun tool to use in the theater that I surprisingly don't see a lot anymore. Consider it. I def am now. lol
