I'm going to see it in December so I won't be able to give you any sort of feedback until then. Hopefully someone will see it sooner and can let us know what they think.
I also bought the London cast recording and I really enjoyed it.

With a 48-inch waist (I have it on good authority), what can Boy George look like BUT a clown?

Boy George has gained quite a bit of weight since his days with Culture Club but 48 inch waiste is pushing it a bit. His weight gain is due to an increased metabolism after having quit drugs and alcohol. Although he has been on a strict macrobiotic diet for a number of years, he did replace the drugs and alcohol with food.
I don't see the connection between being over weight and looking like a clown. Bozo was thin, Ronald MacDonald is thin, I just don't get it

Posted: 10/4/03 at 11:07amI actually would like to see this show. It is from "my generation"-- I grew up with him in the 80s.

Look at it this way: If you ingest enough drugs and alcohol to the point that you alter your entire metabolism, what are you but a fool? The 48-inch waist, by the way, isn't metaphor--it's fact.

The waist size, I can't really comment on. The last time I saw him, he certainly wasn't that heavy but, that was a few years ago.
Nobody would argue your comment on the drugs and alcohol., including George himself. However, the man does deserve some credit for having realized how much he had screwed up his life and for having overcome his addictions.
