Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Boy George looks like a total fool with his "Psycho the Clown" makeup? Or wait...what was the clown's name in Stephen King's IT?

Boy George is playing the part of Leigh Bowery who was a performance artist friend of his. The makeup was part of Bowery's act.
I understand that Boy George is wearing the make-up due to the part he is playing. But he's wearing it all the time. Notice at the photo op no one else was in costume. I suppose it fits with his persona.

You're not the only one, rl. I was looking at the pictures and was wondering, what the...? With so many other new shows coming out now, I think I'll wait a while for this one.
lol he does look like a fool! I probably won't see this show....
Well if he is scaring the posters on this board away from the show, imagine what he is doing to the general public.

LOL...I'm shocked that New Yorkers are so easily scared!
I haven't seen him photographed out of makeup in a long time. Insecurity or simply crazy?

BG will seem mild compared to the man he is playing! But audiences will still get the 80s BG they remember, from the superb Euan Morton.
I'm not scared, this show just looks stupid... lol
No, he's not crazy, he just knows how to get people talking. As demonstrated in this thread. He is actually, in spite of his past, a very spiritual, soft spoken and very polite man. If and when you do get to interact with him when he is not "on" you'd be surprised at how down to earth he is. It's all show. He knows he's expected to be the crazy bad boy and he knows how to play it.

Well yes, as long as you don't cross him
He comes from a family of amateur boxers, and has been in a few scraps in his time...
Well yeah but, a person can be polite, soft spoken, spiritual and still be able to beat the crap out of someone who crosses him. I had heard that he can be very mean and able to protect himself when necesary.
But do you think he knows how to get American Middle Class audiences into a B'way theatre to break even on Rosie's multi-million dollar investment?
I doubt this show will appeal to the American Middle Class. It prove to be too much of a bad gamble for Rosie
Well I'm going to see it. I'll let you know if it sucks:P Actually I have the London CD and the music is great.
Even if it is a good show, it doesn't seem like the type of show that is going to appeal to more than a younger, urban audience. I don't know much about it and haven't heard the CD so I'm just going on the basic synopsis of the story. Let us know what you think after you see it.

Boy George is a little crazy, but if it brings publicity to the show, go for it!

This show played for 18 months in a 300 seat theatre in London. Can they really expect to fill a 1,000 seats a night on Broadway. Why didn't they just tweek it a lttle for U.S. audiences and put it into say the Minetta Lane off broadway where it could find its audience and probably have a good run. On top of that Rosie could probably have saved herself $9million.
