Firstly, Hugh Jackman was NOTHING like Peter Allen. Why people say his performance "channels" Peter Allen I just don't know. The originator of the role here in Oz was closer. The show was never that great in the first place.
At one point in the show in Australia they actually stopped 'Rio' cold to announce "Peter Allen died today..." then went back to the number!
