When does Peter's lover Greg die in the show? Does he sing "I Honestly Love You" as a spirit or something?

Towards the end. Greg comes in as a ghost, wearing all white, and sings the song. A very cheesy part of a very cheesy show.
Aw- I loved the cheesiness of it! I liked this show...
Awww, that part wasn't that cheesey.

That was the scene when Peter was feeling despondent ( maybe he started realizing at that point that he was also fatally ill) and Greg comes to comfort him. I think that he was just a figment of Peter's imagination, something that happens when one misses someone a lot and knows he can never see him again.
It was a melodramatic scene - but I loved Jarrod's singing and Hugh's acting!
I wonder how they will incorporate such an intimate scene in the forthcoming arena show in Australia?

In the original Australian Production (from memory) it was just a straight out love song. Nothing beyond-the-grave about it.
Really liked the show, but not that song!
I never saw the show but I have the CD and I love that song. I think it's really touching.
Isn't it an Olivia Newton John hit or something, though?
DOn't forget that Judy sings Quiet Please from beyond the grave and they all sing I Go To Rio from beyond the grave.

Well, not ALL. Liza is still alive...well, biologically anyway.

Yes, it was a hit song for her in the early 70's.

I think that is one of the funniest things I have read on this board - EVER!!!
answer: about 9 or 10 inches....oh wait, wrong question.
An awful moment in an awful show - I think Jackman says "yep, he died"
and then they conga!
I literally fell over laughing!!
How this show got a best musical nomination over TABOO or BOMBAY DREAMS, I'll never know.
I have no idea either - I also thought he was a half tone sharp the whole evening.
He sold it like a mother but there's only so many ways to sell crap!
I enjoyed Hugh Jackman, but I thought all of the other leading male performances that year were more subtle, deeper, and stronger.
Maybe since the house was pretty full each night it wasn't as awful as some of you believe.....
Someone's opinion of a show is valid, whether you chose to agree or not.
And how many examples are there of terrible shows that sell out and are financially successful?
The reason it was sold out was because of Hugh Jackman. To believe otherwise is foolish.
Nevertheless, sold out....
Isn't that the same with Julia Roberts now?

Peter Allen's performances were never subtle and were always crowd-pleasers( from what I have read) - you couldn't expect Hugh's take on him to be different. If you want to see Hugh in a different light, why not see his old Australian movie ERSKINEVILLE KINGS or maybe his upcoming film THE FOUNTAIN.
The critics, the fans, and the TONY voters loved his performance
