Hi Everyone,
I am looking for seat recommendation for "The Boys in the Band". Apart from the premium seats, which section offers the best and most complete view of the stage? I have heard different reports that sitting closer to the stage for this show is not ideal. If so, is it better to sit in the first few rows of Centre Mezz?
I am currently considering either a Row E or Row G but they are both in the Centre Orchestra section.
Thank you in advance for your kind assistance and recommendation.
I saw it a few weeks ago and we were in the third row in the Mezz -- it was a GREAT seat -- Because the second story is so high, I can imagine Orchestra seats up close might be TOO close. The Booth is such an intimate house, not sure there's actually a bad seat though! ENJOY!!
^ Same. I ended up second row, center, in the mezzanine. That said, I don't know that it would matter too much if you can't see all of the stuff on the second floor, seeing that 93.2% of the play happens on the first level.

I agree with the other two posters. I've sat in the box and the mezz-- hated the box, but I still felt intimately close to the show even from the second to last row of the mezz. The mezz is the best possible deal.

Not to sound crass, but can anyone say where is a good view for the shower scene? What side of the theater? This was my number one show to see this season long before performances started, but I wouldn't want to miss this brief moment.

I had said on another thread that I sat in orchestra center row G, and thought that being too close would prevent you from seeing everything farther back on the second level. But as others have already said, most of the action takes place on the first level, right in the center. So it's the same question as with any show--do you want to be up close and see detailed facial expressions but possibly have a poorer view of the entire stage, or do you want to sit farther back to see the entire stage but miss the features of being up close? There are a few posts on A View From My Seat if you want to get an idea of different vantage points. https://aviewfrommyseat.com/venue/Booth+Theatre/
Also, I'm happy to send you a picture of the view from my seat if you want to PM me. I would post it here but I don't have it uploaded anywhere and you can't directly upload pictures to this board (unless I'm missing something)!

There isn't much to see or miss. What I saw of him getting into the shower was through frosted glass, and when he is getting dressed toward the back of the set after his shower, Parsons was directly blocking my view, heh.

We sat front row Mezz A 102-103 and it was a perfect view. Your best best is center-left mezzanine front 4 rows (5 seats in off aisle-both sides) for the shower scene but it's not such a big deal and so quick!

When I saw it, I saw way more of Bomer than I was expecting to. No complaints. Great seat for that haha!

Hi Everyone,
I just want to post a "THANK YOU!" for taking the time to respond and help me decide. I really appreciate it. Sometimes it's a challenge trying to figure out the best seat for each house for a particular show so thank you.
Has anyone sat near Orchestra B14 (far right against the wall)? I’m concerned from what I’m seeing in other threads that I will have a very obstructed view of the top tier of the set.

I sat in center mezz row C and it aaa great. I scored incredibly priced tickets for center orchestra E tonight and I couldn’t turn down that price for that seat so... I’m going again. I’m curious of what the change in view will be.
I saw it twice, once in row G101 aisle and D2 aisle. Both were fine. G enabled me to see more of what was happening on the 2nd floor. The D row was fine visually, but too close to the stage because of the constant smoking by the cast. Yeah, yeah...they are herbal cigs, but they smell and are troublesome for those with breathing issues like asthma, COPD, allergies, etc. My eyes and sinuses were burning from it.
One suggestion. Look up the show on telecharge. If you click on a seat, it gives you the approximate view of the stage from that seat which will help those who are sitting far right or left. I would assume that extreme ends of rows would cut off some of the "boys" in the kitchen area, but there's no dialogue there anyway. I plan to see it again, but only further back G or more.

I'm looking at Row J seat 4 in the Orchestra/Right - I understand the balcony overhang is row H - does this cut off the view of the upper level? It's the most center seat I can get that isn't premium price or too close.
Also, can I see facial expressions from here? I'd like to be close enough for that as well.

Well I ended up getting Row L on the left - first seat on the aisle so i'd at least be somewhat center. Hopefully i'll be able to see everything clear - as well as facial expressions. I'm really hoping the second level isn't cut off too bad by the mezzanine overhang.
