Smoking at Tru?
 Apr 15 2026, 03:53:37 PM

TRU...Jesse Ferguson....  please...for anyone who went to show, does he actually light up a herbal or other smoking device, vape, etc.? Highly allergic & it's 2 hrs away so don't want to buy and find out there.

Could not get answer from anyone in production, ticketing, church office.  Office didn't know; others never responded.

Jury finds that Ticketmaster illegally monopolized the ticketing industry
 Apr 15 2026, 03:42:31 PM

It'll be appealed for the next 10 years and ultimately settle with a fraction of $ awarded, if that. The monopoly has existed for decades with no action from state or fed governments. Fifteen percent fee charge when you buy and again when you sell. And the buyer also pays the 15%. It's beyond monopoly. It's more like a mafia shakedown and DOJ will do nothing.

Variety (Exclusive): Jesse Tyler Ferguson Starring as Truman Capote in 'Tru'

"Based on photos, both Ferguson and d’Amboise use prop cigarettes but they are not lit."

Thank you Brody.  Does that mean you saw the show?  Did you like it?

I don't rely on assumptions regarding stage smoking because too many times the site either failed to post or posted after opening. I usually buy tkts months in advance when shows are announced.  And I had to seek refunds, unfortunately, when I learned they did/would.

Hi,  Does Jesse use herbal or other smoking means as Tru was a chain smoker? Love Jesse in everything he does, but highly allergic.

I've emailed and called production, the church, etc...Church folks didn't know and no one answered from parties related to production.

AUDRA GYPSY Reviews
 Dec 20 2024, 07:50:12 AM

Tevin Three wrote partially, "...including how often and where she switches from chest voice to head voice."

Not being a musician, I didn't know there was a difference and curious how it sounds.  Learned something new.

AUDRA GYPSY Reviews
 Dec 20 2024, 07:43:19 AM

Chris Jones of NY Daily News wrote in his review: "This “Gypsy” (playing across the street from “The Hills of California,” which could not have been written without it), is yet another reminder of the sacrifices show-folk make: the heartbreak,"

Last time I checked, Hills/Calif was next door, not across the street.

Any Brian Stokes Mitchell Coming to B'way
 Dec 6 2024, 10:48:56 PM

I'd to go it.  He had a great comic streak with Norm Lewis at Norm's 54 Below show.  Had tickets to "Three Summers of Lincoln" in San Diego, but box office announced he "withdrew for personal reasons.'

Any Chance Brian Stokes Mitchell Coming to B'way

Now that Brian Stokes has withdrawn from the LaJolla, Playhouse  production of "Lincoln" musical, any word he might be doing something in NYC instead?

Well aware it hasn't opened yet, but having seen both Gypsy & Sunset 3 times, I wouldn't be surprised which way WSJ is leaning and it's not Gypsy.  Love Audra her work and voice, but when the audience is constantly looking at their watch at 10:40pm, leaving early, and lots of empty seats, it spea

Wall St Journal, Dec 4th:
"The Best Theater of 2024: Surprising Stagings and New Perspectives"
Gypsy was not among list.  Can only imagine the review.

Saw it first night and Dec 5 when it ran till 11pm.  By 10:45p, noticed folks around me constantly looking at their watch.

For somebody who was there tonight - are they doing the BCEFA thing? Any chance I’ll be able to buy a signed window card?

Bway Cares once told me they don't ask shows in previews to take on a major poster sign. Unsure if that will change.

Still waiting for access code for Fans of Clooney.  Anyone receive it?  I did look via Amex, but wanted to see what they have to offer anything better.  Thank you.

Regarding Downey signing Playbills, perhaps the Vivian B theater should post this at the stage door:  "If an Emmy winner has to beg for Downey's signature, you don't stand a chance!"

"...But The Ferryman and Jerusalem, it is not."

Agree...especially the unnecessary chain smoking that created a distraction and discomfort on the increasingly coughing audience.  Counted Laura lighting 5 in last 10-15 mins.   The smelly smoky haze went ceiling-bound as it permeated theater.

I love the Mendes/Butterworth/Donnelly combo. Saw Ferryman 9 times. Disappointed I have to choose between breathing comfortably and the show.

Ramin Karimloo to star in premiere of Elvis Costello's A FACE IN THE CROWD at the Old Vic
 Sep 2 2024, 07:44:26 AM

Presumed theater district was like NYC with similar use of subways for off-Bway fare or off-West End . Asked folks here because they go to shows there. Rick Stevens' forums?  Unfamiliar.
