I'm trying to figure out if I can afford to gift a ticket to the Broadway play, Boys in the Band, any approximation of how much the tickets will cost?

Unless you want rush/discount/rear mezz prices, the tickets should cost the usual $120-$170 that most everything costs. But since it isn't even starting shows until late spring, hard to nail down exactly...

They haven’t even announced when they’re on sale have they?

No, and they're making it very difficult to plan my late May/early June trip.

Well, it is playing from the end of April until mid-August, so what's the difficulty?

That tells me nothing. At the very least, a performance schedule would be very helpful.

Likely that ticket price will dictate how many other shows Lot can fit in during the trip, if this is at the top of their list.

This, plus I tend to buy tickets based on which date has the best available seats. The lack of info from this show forces me to wait to buy others as well. I don't know what days it will play, and when matinees and dark days will be, so I'm reluctant to lock anything in on my schedule.
Seems overcomplicated, especially if it prevents you from buying tickets to other shows while they have good availability. If you're in town for a few days, leave two slots open, and you'll be fine. If you leave a Tuesday and Thursday night open, and book everything else, hard to imagine it wouldn't play either one. Or just keep waiting...

I don't have a Tuesday, and Thursday is already taken by Hamilton. The point is it's a bit odd that they still have no idea what the schedule will be or when it will go on sale.

They probably have a very specific plans for both. They just haven't made them public.
