If another performer had been given the role, it would have been a radically different production because radically different choices would have been made. And might not have been anywhere near as sucessful. This has nothing to do with whether she's a good actress or someone people want to see in other roles. It clearly was developed around what she could bring, and so the Sunset production that had everyone raving would, inde...

Why leave the above noted lyrics out of "Prima Donna", when they were included in the original cast recording and the accompanying libretto booklet, and then add Christine's spoken "I can't. I won't do it!"

It's sad that they didn't do this with the Broadway production before it closed, so the best we can get now is cheapened costumes/set pieces and an "orchestra" full of synthesizers courtesy of Cameron Mackintosh, and direction by Seth Sklar-Heyn instead of Hal Prince.

Does anyone here know whether Masquerade uses the original London cast recording masters or a completely new recording of the music? I'm curious because, with the remixed version of the original cast recording coming soon, I found myself wondering whether Masquerade might switch to the new mix (if they're not using a recording created specifically for them).
