Bradley Cooper... an Oscar and a Tony?

"I agree. The subtly he had in the home scenes was emotional and powerful."

Oh but his film was nominated for best picture so it obviously doesn't deserve it right? Cause any film nominated for best picture isn't worthy and only imaginary people gush over films they see that are in limited released and they feel OH so special for having seen them, correct?

People actually saw this film. It's breaking box office records. Unlike the others.

The Oscars nominated films people don't watch. And that would be true this year if it wasn't for the fact that they extended (stupidly) the number that can be nominated for Best Picture.

I don't actually see your mocking point. That would be because you didn't get what I said and only focused on the word you understood which was SUCK.

The kind you missed.

So only films that break box office records should win best picture right? You haven't even seen the rest of the nominees so you can't say whether or not they deserved to be nominated. That's like me saying "Oh I didn't see Into the woods but it probably sucks and shouldn't be nominated because it didn't break any box office records and only theater fans saw it"

You really have absolutely no idea what you are talking about and everyone can see that. Even showface is keeping it's distance from you.

For the 1 millionth time...no.

That won't work because you lack the ability to comprehend.

And you're a coward whining online.

My turn.
J-J---Perhaps if you'd just settle, maybe try and refrain from answering every little phrase that upsets you, perhaps some might take a few of the things you feel so strongly about, digest them, and think you could be right.
Reading your responses, you appear childish, angry, single minded, offended and persecuted--of course my uneducated observation.
In no way could I join in and debate your views and/or other members but I always read with interest subjects about which I have little knowledge [or none] to continue a learning process.
It affects me in no way how you choose to form your personality, or care how old you are, but this is a message board forum so all are free to contribute.

I have seen Mr Cooper in American Sniper. Going in--I thought I was in for some gung-ho America saves the world escapist 2 hours--I got 90mins of mental anguish and emotional domestic claptrap and 30mins of battle action. Perhaps I should research next time.
No to Oscar.

It's the same old mikey xenia blah blah blah. Lotsa stupidity bookended by the old "I am rubber and what you are, you yourself, right there, is glue" technique. Only now with more spelling and grammar errors because he's probably working on a smaller communications device.

I think this thread took a drastic turn from when I originally posted it! Wonder if Michael Moore's comments will actually end up helping the film and Coopers chance of winning. I sure don't see much about any of the others movies online or on TV. I do see a bit about Selma, but other then that, I only seem to be seeing news stories about American Sniper.

Michael Moore can't really help or detract from American Sniper losing the award to Boyhood. Personally, I think it's atrocious how politics play such a huge part with Oscars, but that's how it is. On the other hand, I don't think American Sniper or Bradley Cooper deserves to win anyway.

gfausstwa - that's partly because of how much $$$ it's raking in. A record-breaking opening weekend for the month of January. Not bad at all.

I'm kind of shocked at the "controversy" the movie has stirred up. What's so controversial? I think we all know our military protects their own. Yes people get shot and killed. It's the same on both sides of the battle field. I'm a bit surprised that people who live in the USA find is shocking, appalling and controversial that our military shoots people. Welcome to the land of the free. You have to protect it.

But that's just it. We weren't in Iraq to protect ourselves. We were there for oil. We were there because of lies. A fact that AMERICAN SNIPER glosses over.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali
