Brandi Burkhardt and Derek Keeling lead Grease in Istanbul

Yes...it's there til June 7.

Brandi & Derek will be playing at Feinstein's together in August!

I'm just baffled at how Brandi managed to be in two Broadway musicals (including originating a role for her Broadway debut that she never played before), but is performing ....in Istanbul....in Grease. Seems bizarre to me, but perhaps Mr. Keeling's love for Grease grew on her too.

Haha, I agree! I read that the girl playing Rizzo, Caroline Bowman, is Lady of the Lake in the upcoming Spamalot national tour, btw.

After watching the clip, it made me realize how great Brandi sounds with the classical, pop-opera, traditional scores as opposed to something in the rock & roll-y style of Grease. She did a fine job in Mamma Mia! though, but I wouldn't call her a stand-out Sophie (although can anyone shine that much besides Donna in MM!? Lol).

Here's to hoping Brandi does more BROADWAY!!

Derek Keeling loves performing in Grease...remember he did the reality show, did two national tours of it, and then turned down the opportunity to originate a brand new role in a brand new Broadway musical (A TALE of TWO CITIES as Charles Darnay) to be a replacement in the horrible revival of Grease that just happened.

Turns out Grease ran longer than Tale (by about 4 weeks), and he was the star as opposed to a supporting role, but still I'd rather originate a role than be a replacement in a revival!

I've got to say, Brandi has an unusually nice sized fanbase for starring in a not so popular Broadway megaflop, a replacement for few months in a supporting role in a juke box musical, and dozens of recordings / songs written for her by a composer (and former fiance) whose name is shunned at this board (Frank Wildhorn).

Also, I would assume her & Derek Keeling are a "thing" still, and if they get to work & get paid to basically take a month vacation singing karaoke, I'd do it too .

On my *maybe* last side-note, Brandi's website is finally up & running!

Looks like she'll be featured on DAVID HASSELHOFF's newest CD (Lol maybe a Wildhorn tune will pop up in there? I'm sure that's how she got that contact anyway!)

She's also apparently working on her own solo album! I certainly hope this is true, but if she ain't singing Wildhorn or for him anymore, I question who would be giving her a record deal or she must be switching over to the pop world! Either way I'll be listening !

Oh really? Most of the reviews said he was good in Sarasota, but had pretty much nothing to do and his character, not him, needed to be more centralized in the plot. I remember he said in many articles that he just really wanted / needed to do Grease for personal goal reasons!

I remember there was a lot of debate about if Jessica Rush had been requested not to join the cast -- her pictures were removed from the fliers they handed out in the beginning of the run (Literally, just photoshopped out of the big, whole cast photo).

Since I now know - Brandi is featured on two tracks on the Hoff's new CD. She'll be singing Italian in one, and the other is the English version of song from Rudolf - The Last Kiss. Don't believe she's done anything minus her & Derek's Feinstein concert as of late!
