re: Break A Nail 'Charity'!

Good Luck, hope to catch this in January.

I never understand how the Menier makes a dime, as these are quite big productions and the wage bill has to be high?

re: Break A Nail 'Charity'!

Top wage is 250 a week no matter how many episodes of 'Eastenders' you were in!

re: Break A Nail 'Charity'!

Really, did not know that, so if that is the case, why do so many top actors/actresses such as Douglas Hodge, Phillip Quast and Maureen Lipman etc, chose to perform there, it is hardly a decent wage?

re: Break A Nail 'Charity'!

Well it certainly didn't hurt Douglas Hodge's career. A starring role in the West End (with the increased wage, of course), an Olivier Award and now getting to star on Broadway. I'd imagine he thinks the pay cut was worth it for all he's gotten out of that experience.

re: Break A Nail 'Charity'!

The Donmar pay the same or there abouts- yes, Ms Kidman was on that huge salary too!!

re: Break A Nail 'Charity'!

Most of the actors who do fringe shows like the Menier or the Donmar don't do it for the money because you can get more doing television and film.

If Variety is to believed, A Little Night Music cost £420,000 which is quite a lot for a off-West End.

Crikey! I'm glad I turned the role down.

re: Break A Nail 'Charity'!

Looks like it'll be a good one! I think it's great how ThisIsLondon described The Rhythm of Life as "a hippy-inspired freak-out" very straightforward! :P The images are all fantastic too (: not what I expected at all but I am pleasently surprised!
