Bret Michaels Blames Tony Awards For His Brain Hemorrhage, Files Lawsuit

In 2009, reality-TV rocker Bret Michaels was nearly decapitated--or at least almost lost some of his trademark blonde locks--when a descending set piece toppled him over at the end of Poison's "Nothin' But A Good Time" Tony Awards performance with the Rock Of Ages cast. At the time--once it was announced that Bret was SUPPOSEDLY okay--it seemed pretty funny, the most Spinal Tap-esque moment in Broadway history. But when Bret was hospitalized with a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage six months later, and nearly died, no one was laughing. Back then, I always wondered if Bret's brain condition was linked in any way to the nasty bump on the noggin that he received at the 2009 Tonys.

This ought to be interesting.

I thought they proved the two weren't linked...?

Subarachnoid hemorrhage?

Isn't that what's happening to SpiderMan -Turn Off The Dark?

i'm just wondering what took him so long to decide to sue? if you're injured and you want to take legal action, isn't it bes to do so immediately? i read somewhere that bret michaels decided to sue after donald trump suggested it to him, but i'm not sure of the validity of that statement. i guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens...

dunno what the laws in New York State R but generally its up to 7 years after the event or its cause has been identified. As a wise old lawyer wunce said 2 me "Anybody can sue anybody else for ANYthing- doesn't mean they're gonna win!" It'll be a case of dueling medical evidence, with claims for pain and suffering.
I'm shure DaDonald told him they'd settle out of court and that the $$ is not taxable- essentially free!
