If anyone went tonight, please post a review.
While we're waiting...who replaced Brian D'Arcy James in The Lieutenant of Inishmore?

Brian D'arcy and Keith Carradine don't start until tomorrow, although they were originally scheduled to start today, I'm not sure why it changed.
That is odd, Blu. I kept hearing July 20th. Oh well, tomorrow it is!
I'll be there on Saturday, not the first show, but close :)
Yes, and whoever is lucky enough to go...can we get a detailed review? Perhaps of Brian's ass? = P

They, in fact, did not perform tonight. According to the BO, they start tomorrow.
I saw Brian D'arcy James out on the street before the show. I was tempted to ask him when he was starting and pass on general well-wishes, but didn't want to bug him because he was talking to someone.
FYI, Dennis Parlato and Timothy J. Alex went on tonight.
Why do they start on a Friday?

I saw the show tonight, and sadly, no Brian and Keith! I talked to Timothy J. Alex (the u/s for Freddy, who went on tonight, and who was AMAZING -- read my impending review) and he said that "the new guy" is "definitely" going up tomorrow. Interesting to see.
I'll post a review in a little while. :)
Like everyone has said, they start tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be there, so I'll be sure to post a gushing review about Brian.

exactly Dre
Kerrie, that's fine by me! ; D
Can't wait to hear reviews and get some responses
You guys do realize most people on the main board have no clue what "Amanda-esque" means...
So, was anyone there?
true. "wickedrentq-esque" then. hehehe.
Just got back!!
First off - Keith. Let me just say that he has a REALLY tough act to follow. Jonathan Pryce really re-invented the role and brought it and the show to new heighs. It's not easy to step into a role like that. That having been said, he wasn't bad. I think he's going to need time to really warm up to the role. He was a bit boring at times, but there were moments where you could see he's got it in him. I think he's just figuring things out still. The keys of all of his songs had to be lowered, and it took a bit for me to get used to. I'm going to wait and see how he evolves in the role before I really say anything else. He's very charming and there's definitely potential.
Brian? BRIAN! Obviously, I'm biased. But I went in there tonight and let me just tell you - he met and exceeded every expectation I had. He performed the role tonight like he's been doing it for months. It was perfect - he was funny, he was crude when he needed to be, and his voice... are there words to describe his voice? His Great Big Stuff was just perfection - the house went wild afterwards, which is saying a lot, given that this audience wasn't responding to much. He really made this role his own and it's so nice to see a fresh take. And to think - he can only get better from here. He's going to be incredible as his run goes on... I may even dare to say that some people may be thinking 'Norbert who?'
The rest of the cast was dead on tonight, as usual. The audience was small - almost the entire front row was empty, and much of the rear mezz was totally empty... hopefully things will pick up. We'll see.
I encourage everyone who has the opportunity to see Brian in this show. He's worth every penny.

I am so jealous! Was there any site of the tush?
The audience was small - almost the entire front row was empty,
Why aren't they giving out the front row to the lotto people if it's not sold for that night? What a waste.
YES! I was quite pleased.
Yeah - it really surprised me that the front row was so empty. I wish they'd move the lotto back there... though, really, I am fond of the box seats.
Kerry!
Glad you enjoyed the show lol
