You spelled my name wrong!
Now I'm dying to see it. I don't know if I can wait til September...
BTW, how was the Ruprecht scene?
I spelled it wrong because you said Norbert who >.>
Great to hear the positives, Kerrie. Brian originated the role in a workshop, so it doesn't surprise me that he seems really comfortable in it. Obviously, I'll be seeing him really soon...
I didn't win any of the three lottos I went to so I told my friend that he's prob. enjoy DRS. And let me say; wow! Brian was out of this world! I absolutely loved the show all over again. I'm in Chicago's airport right now and my time is running out on this computer...I'll post a review later tonight. Have a good one!
Cheers,
Christopher

get to see it tomorrow. sad causse it's Greg's last day, and sad that no Norbert will be there. But it's going to be interesting to see the other two in the roles.
I don't see why the original stars don't stick around. If I were in their shoes (which I will be someday), I will perform till the final curtain on closing night!
Here's a nice article

Charlayne, it sounds good in theory, but you underestimate the wear and tear put on actors to perform 8 shows a week. Some find they have no time to spend with families, some get sick/exhausted...some do stick around for years and years and major props to them. But it's not fair to judge those who don't.
I saw the show Saturday 7/22 and Brian was phenomenal :) It was my first time seeing DRS so I can't compare him to Norbert, but I was thoroughly pleased with every facet of his performance. The overall cast was great and I didn't notice any weak links like I usually do, a great show and would definitely love to see it again.

I saw the show today with Brian D"Arcy James. I hadn't seen it in ages so it was kinda bitter sweet. I have to say, I'm not a fan of the lottery box seats, but beggars can't be choosers.
Brian is so talented. I saw him in Sweet Smell, but I had no idea he had it in him. I found myself not trying to compare him to Norbert at all. He just took it for what it was, and made it his own. He was absolutely fabulous and I'm so proud. He can be deliciously vile, or seductively sexy at the turn of a screw. I am smitten. I HAVE to say this...his body is so deliciously covered with hair and his smile makes him Mr. Charming. Obviously acting has worked out just fine. But if it hadn't, he would have been a great car salesman because of that damn earth shattering smile!
...And when I shook his hand today, I couldn't help but ask if he'd thought to wash his hands since the show....
To which he replied...? I await the witty answer, haha.
I'm so glad you liked Brian.

He just laughed. So I left it alone.
Probably a good idea, hehe.

Norbert's a tough act for anyone to follow, but I think Brian's gonna surprise everyone with just how funny can be, and how he really worked to make Freddy his own.

How has the lottery been post-Norbert? I would like to see Brian and Keith in DRS sometime soon and am hoping to win the lottery. Thanks!

On Sunday afternoon, everyone won except for maybe two people.
Off topic but I'm listening to Titanic right now and felt the need to tell you all.
Brian's voice is great.
Chrys, what were your thoughts of Carradine and Kind and anyone else of note?

Richard Kind was less charm and more comedic. Also felt like he struggled to keep up with his partner during the dancing.
Carradine was eh.. A good singer, and he had good intuition. But, I felt the energy was a bit low.
And then there was the understudy on for Murial. She was cute, but her accent bothered me a bit.
Like I said, I saw the show for Brian. Ha ha. I can't wait for Donna Lynne to see it. She is gonna FLIP!
The Proposal is love! And also, the Forbidden Broadway parody of Titanic is hilarious!
I didn't realize Kind had started. Maybe now with a new full cast we'll get an updated video preview or even pics.
Also, I've always been curious to hear this Donna Lynne "stalking Brian" story. What's that about?
