For anybody who's seen the show-
I was offered free tickets to the show, and was wondering how appropriate it would be to take a 13 year old to. Are there any explicit sex scenes, or any scenes that would be uncomfortable seeing with a parent?
Nothing explicit. It would all depend how adult the 13 year old is.
At its most explicit, the leading man takes off his shirt and the leading lady wears a slip.
If your 13-year-old can handle the idea of a housewife committing adultery and considering leaving her family, she will be fine. Whether she will actually enjoy it is another matter; there are two teenagers, the children of Francesca, but their parts are small (though funny).
The meditation on types of love (for family, for a partner, for a handsome stranger, for neighbors, etc.) may be too adult even for older teens to really enjoy. I saw HAIR at your daughters' age and was fine, but BRIDGES is actually quite a bit more sophisticated in its themes.
Not sure about the tour, but on Broadway, the leading lady got out of a bubble bath and stood naked in front of a mirror (all very bubbled up) before toweling off and getting dressed.
^^^ I don't recall a bubble-bath scene from the tour. I confess I am more apt to notice male nudity than female, but I can't even imagine how the bath scene would be staged, based on the set for the tour.
I think this show would likely bore a 13-year-old.

Well, that wasn't their question!

A bathtub and small wall rolled out at the front of stage right, when she was getting ready for her date with the photographer.
It has some really mature concepts in it that a 13 year old may not completely understand, but the music is gorgeous. I most certainly do not recall any nudity in the broadway production. I remember her getting out of the tub with a towel on, but I'm pretty positive that she wasn't nude.

I was in the front row, side orchestra, aisle seat directly in front of the bathtub. She was naked in the tub, got out, and then put the towel on before checking herself out in the mirror.
Kelli's breasts were definitely briefly exposed in that scene.
She didn't appear to be fully nude on the tour but I was in the balcony.
It's certainly no more explicit than say an episode of Desperate Housewives (actually probably much tamer than most episodes of that) but I agree that they may find it boring. It's a slow-cooking romance pretty much.

I took two fourteen year old girls (one of them mine). I didn't find anything particularly concerning (other than the overall theme of adultery, of course). Neither girl liked the show very much, but it wasn't because of any sexual content.

We were front orchestra for the tour in Pittsburgh, and I concur; no full nudity at all.
