I am in love with it. I have not been able to listen to anything else since I got it Saturday. Favorite tracks... 1 - Bright Lights, Big City. 13 - So Many Little Things. 16 - Perfect Feeling (Patrick Wilson & Sherie Rene Scott...almost too good to be true). 21 - Camera Wall (currently my FAVORITE track. I think Patrick is amazing). Not to mention Brother 1,2,3. Damn it, I just love this whole CD.

re: Bright Lights, Big City 'Sh-k-Boom CD'

I posted somewhere, but I forget where. It wasn't the BLBC thread. Anyway, I've listened to it straight through a few times, and I like it a lot, but I'm not in love. The cast makes me weak in the knees, but some of the lyrics are kind of weird - not in an edgy sort of way, but there are a few instances where I went "um, WHAT?!" I don't know if corny is the right word, but they were kind of ridiculous. *shrug* I like the music a ton, for the most part. It really exudes that rough atmosphere the show sounds like it has. I usually need a while to love CD's, so we shall see....

No, it's French for the English word... I think. There was one that I literally laughed out loud at yesterday, and I can't remember what it was. I was on the subway with my iPod, and cracked up over this unknown lyric.

Yeah, sometimes the lyrics are just off - but the music's great and catchy. And Eden Espinosa? Dare I say, I think she sounds great.

Just got off the phone with Sh-k-Boom.

If you haven't received your 'Hair' or 'BLBC' recordings yet, it's because they had some problems with half of the CDS that came back and those two are going out either this afternoon or tomorrow and we should get them by next Thursday.

YAY!! I need my Hair CD.

Shira, I agree. For the screech-machine, Eden sounds great.

re: Bright Lights, Big City 'Sh-k-Boom CD'

Just read this from Richard Ableson on www.patrickwilson.org about the launch and promotion of the "Bright Lights, Big City" CD

"The (launch) party is not for members of the general public but there will be in-store apperences that week..."

Who from BWW would qualify to go to the Launch Party?

(Re: In-store appearances, Etheb...Emcee...get your cameras fired up!!!)
Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

re: Bright Lights, Big City 'Sh-k-Boom CD'

So I had it in my car, for a 100 mile trip I went on last week - so I had a long time to listen to music.

I wish I could hear more of Eden, personally. The music is good, not great, and certainly not groundbreaking in any way. However, it goes between "We're a rock musical" and "We're the soft/rock alternative with a hint of tango".

But the lyrics - uh, nice try? They need work. Serious work.

But hey, I like the music most of the time - and obviously good voices.

I'm still trying to figure out what that one lyric is that made me want to jump out a window. I'll have to look for it later - it was pretty funny.

Hun, I know you love Patrick and we all know so do I, but there's a reason this show didn't go very far. *pat pat*

re: Bright Lights, Big City 'Sh-k-Boom CD'

I'd totally come to in-store appearances if I was in NYC!

I'm truly happy you love it - we all have our guilty pleasures!

re: Bright Lights, Big City 'Sh-k-Boom CD'

Not if I have to get up early for them, that's for sure. :-P
*sticks out tongue* AIDA made it to Broadway, silly. I'm not saying it's bad, you know that. I'm just saying it could've used some re-vamps on the lyrics.
